Get on the bus with Camp Helping Hands Family Days!
We’ve teamed up with some of our veteran summer community service partners to provide families who wish to serve together the opportunity to do just that. Experience a day on the bus with Camp Helping Hands as you set out for some serious fun and fulfillment that only a full day of service with our crew and community partners can deliver. Program times vary depending on itinerary, but each day of service roughly lasts five to seven hours. Snack is provided.

Our first stop during this event will be the Community Roots Garden (CRG) in Oxnard where families will learn about community gardening and how CRG supports underserved residents as they help seed, harvest, and tend to other task items needed in the garden that day. Once the bountiful harvest has been prepared for delivery, families will again board the bus and head over to the Ventura County Rescue Mission for harvest drop off and a facility tour. At the Rescue Mission, families will not only tour the kitchen and learn how their garden harvest will be prepared into meals to feed over 500 families, but they will also see firsthand everything the Rescue Mission does to help residents transition back into the workforce.

CHH has teamed up with Born to Act Players, an improvisational theater group in North Hollywood for youth ages 13 through 25 with Down Syndrome, to give you an improvisational theater experience of a lifetime. With an emphasis on inclusion, acceptance, and celebrating human diversity, families will work together with the Born to Act Players theater troop for a day of improv and movement.
